How to translate Thai voice messages
Landlords, in-laws, suppliers and partners love voice messages. If you don't speak Thai, a 40-second voice note is a wall. Here's how to get it written out and translated in seconds.
In LINE
- Add Smartlation as a friend: lin.ee/y2sAgrx.
- Long-press the voice message → Forward → choose Smartlation.
- You get what was said in Thai, and the translation in your language.
In a group with Smartlation in it, voice messages are translated automatically when the sender has a plan (Basic or higher).
In Telegram
- Open @SmartlationBot and press Start.
- Forward the voice message to the bot (or record one yourself).
- You get the Thai text and the translation. In groups, everyone can read it.
How many can I translate?
| Plan | Price | Voice messages a day |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 79 ฿ / month (first month 49 ฿) | 3 |
| Pro | 199 ฿ / month | 10 |
| Business | 499 ฿ / month | 20 |
Text messages are free and unlimited on every plan, and there's a 3-day free trial of Business with no card needed.
Why not just use speech-to-text?
Thai voice notes are fast, casual and full of slang and particles (ครับ, ค่ะ, นะ, อะ). Smartlation writes it out and then translates the meaning — so “เดี๋ยวไปรับนะ” comes out as “I'll come and pick you up soon”, not a string of words.
